ProPhotoDaily’s David Schonauer: Call for Submissions: Interview a Caregiver for a Special “Projections” Project

From ProPhotoDaily’s David Schonauer posting:

We’re living through an extraordinary time.

And we’re living through it with the help of extraordinary people. Now ThePhotoCloser “Projections” series is putting together a project focusing on those people. And you can help.

“Projections is about showcasing the visions and voices of artists. For one special evening, we’d like to capture and showcase the voices of frontline workers — raw, uncut and without interpretation,” notes Frank Meo of ThePhotoCloser, who created the Projection series. (Which we have been highlighting at PPD.)

Meo is asking photographers and others to interview a person in their personal world who’s working to help us through the Covid-19 pandemic — healthcare workers, police and firefighters, postal workers, bakers, grocery store employees, doormen, UPS and FedEx deliverers, cab drivers, transit workers and more. “Anyone,” notes Meo, who “make us feel safe and proud.”

This is your chance to thank them: Create a video clip (safely, via Zoom or FaceTime, or simply have the person record themselves) no longer than 90 seconds and submit it as part of a special night of virtual projects. “We want to know what these frontline workers are feeling, why they put themselves in harm’s way, what scares them, what motivates them, and what sacrifices they’ve made,” say Meo.

Send your clip at this link: https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/starstoNY

Deadline for submission is May 28.
